The Legogo Bay
A large reef extending into the sea creates a natural large bay that empties out completely at spring low providing large expansive flat beach. As the bay fills up it provides safe swimming for all family members and variable wave size based on where you want to swim. The reef also provides a natural harbour for an excellent safe and easy launch site for any water craft with only spring high tide providing some potential excitement.
Vehicles are allowed onto the beach within a demarcated area so families can enjoy long lazy days on the beach under their gazebo’s. The reef provides protected rock pools and fun snorkelling along the inside ledges.
Time to unwind
Learn to surf in the corner of the bay or move down the beach to ride the bigger waves. As the bay changes with the tides there is always something new and fun on offer.
From Legogo you can walk / run north for 8km before you find another house before returning for a game of beach bats, kite flying or a snorkel in the various deep rock pools or along the reef.
Spectacular Fishing
A safe and easy launch site provides access to multiple reefs and hot spots. The home reef is within 5 minutes paddle from the beach and often produces the most fish while the ski boats run to the outer reefs. There is usually live bait available just behind the back line which can be used to entice multiple species into a bite, including bill fish.
Species available to catch include:
- King Mackerel (Couta)
- Queen Mackerel (Snoek)
- Dorado
- Yellow fin Tuna
- Kingfish

Fishing in the bay is also available for the family and kingfish of various species can be caught if the conditions are right

In the summer months dolphins and turtles are abundant and dolphin frequent the back line for some sepectalur surfing displays. In the winter months the humpback whales and their babies can be seen frollicking about with their arial displays and often come right in close to the reef. The slapping of their tails can often be heard from the houses.
